License Activation Issues

8 March 2026 jiffytrade Troubleshooting

If you’ve purchased a Pro or Whitelabel plan but are unable to activate your license in JiffyTrade, this guide will help you diagnose and fix common causes.

🔑 1️⃣ Locate Your License Key

After purchasing a Pro or Whitelabel plan, Freemius generates and sends your unique license key to you automatically. You can find it in:

  • The email you received after purchase
  • Your Freemius Dashboard under Licenses

This key is required to activate the plugin on your site.

📍 2️⃣ Activate the License in WordPress

To activate the license:

  1. Go to My Business → Settings → License
  2. Enter your license key
  3. Click Activate License

Freemius verifies the key automatically and grants access to premium features.

If the activation completes successfully, the plugin displays a confirmation and your premium features unlock.

🔁 3️⃣ Activation Limits

Some licenses allow only a certain number of active sites. If you hit the activation limit, activation will fail.

If you recently migrated your site or changed domains, you may need to deactivate the license on the old site first. Freemius tracks activations per site.

🔄 4️⃣ Deactivate and Re-Activate (Normal Use Case)

If you’re replacing a site or moving hosting:

If you still have access to the old site:

  1. In WP Admin, go to the plugin’s Account page
  2. Click Deactivate License
  3. Activate it on the new site

If you no longer have access to the old site:

  1. Log in to your Freemius Customer Portal
  2. Go to Licenses → Websites
  3. Locate the old site
  4. Click Deactivate
  5. Now activate the license on your current site

🌍 5️⃣ Connection or Server Issues

If your site cannot connect to Freemius licensing servers, license activation can fail.

Try:

  • Temporarily disabling firewalls, VPNs, or security plugins
  • Ensuring your hosting allows outbound HTTPS requests
  • Checking server time and SSL configuration

While rare, ISP or network issues can prevent activation requests from succeeding.

🧠 6️⃣ Multi-Site Considerations

On WordPress Multisite, each sub-site may require a separate activation unless your license supports network-wide activation. Check your plan’s activation limits and your network configuration.

📄 7️⃣ Still Not Working?

When contacting support, include:

  • Your WordPress version
  • Your JiffyTrade version
  • Your PHP version
  • The exact license key (or at least the key prefix)
  • Any error message shown when activation fails

Providing precise details helps us resolve the issue faster.
