Converting Estimates
Estimates can easily be converted into either Quotes or Invoices without recreating the document.
This allows you to provide an approximate price first, then confirm the final cost or bill the customer once work has been approved.
Converting an Estimate to a Quote
If the scope of work has been agreed and the price is now fixed, you can convert an estimate into a quote.
- Open My Business → Documents.
- Locate the estimate in the Document History table.
- Click Convert to Quote.
- Review the new quote and make any adjustments if needed.
- Save or send the document to the customer.
All items, pricing, and customer details are automatically copied from the original estimate.
Converting an Estimate to an Invoice
If work has been approved and you are ready to bill the customer, you can convert the estimate directly into an invoice.
- Open My Business → Documents.
- Find the estimate in the Document History table.
- Click Convert to Invoice.
- Update the invoice status if required.
- Send the invoice to the customer or export the PDF.
The invoice will automatically include all details from the original estimate.
Converting Documents from the Document Designer
If you are creating a new document, you are able to convert existing documents directly from the Document Designer.
Click the Convert icon (🔀) in the designer toolbar to open the conversion panel. This panel lets you quickly select an existing document to convert from.
Once selected, JiffyTrade™ will automatically copy the customer details, items, and totals into the current document so you can continue working without starting from scratch.
Tip
Estimates, Quotes, and Invoices all share the same document structure in JiffyTrade™. This means you can move between stages of a job without recreating documents manually, helping keep your records organised and consistent.
