Date & Time Formatting

6 March 2026 jiffytrade Setup & Configuration

JiffyTrade displays dates and times using the format defined in your WordPress settings. This ensures the plugin automatically matches the regional preferences configured for your website.

Instead of using a fixed format (such as UK day/month/year), JiffyTrade follows the native WordPress date and time settings so everything stays consistent across your site.

How Date & Time Formatting Works

JiffyTrade uses the WordPress General Settings to determine how dates and times should appear.

This means that:

  • Dates shown in the plugin will follow your WordPress Date Format
  • Times will follow your WordPress Time Format
  • Any generated documents or interface elements using dates will reflect these settings

For example:

WordPress SettingDisplayed Example
d/m/Y25/03/2026
m/d/Y03/25/2026
F j, YMarch 25, 2026

Because JiffyTrade uses WordPress formatting, it works correctly for global users, including those in regions where date formats differ.

Where to Change Your Date & Time Format

To modify how dates and times appear:

  1. Go to WordPress Admin
  2. Navigate to Settings → General
  3. Locate the Date Format and Time Format options
  4. Choose one of the presets or create a custom format
  5. Click Save Changes

Once saved, JiffyTrade will automatically use the updated format throughout the plugin.

Why JiffyTrade Uses WordPress Formatting

Using the built-in WordPress settings provides several benefits:

  • Ensures regional compatibility for global users
  • Keeps formatting consistent across your entire site
  • Allows administrators to manage formatting from one central location

This approach avoids confusion when working with international customers or teams.

Future Improvements

In a future update, JiffyTrade may introduce the option to configure separate date and time formats directly within the plugin settings.

This would allow users to:

  • Use one format for their website
  • Use a different format for business documents and plugin data

For example, some businesses may prefer a formal document format such as:

25 March 2026

even if their website displays:

03/25/2026.

For now, JiffyTrade simply follows the WordPress native settings to ensure maximum compatibility and simplicity.

Summary

  • JiffyTrade uses WordPress native date and time settings
  • Formatting can be changed in Settings → General
  • Any changes automatically apply across the plugin
  • Future versions may allow plugin-specific date/time formats
