Proposal Templates
Proposal templates allow you to predefine reusable proposal structures, saving time and ensuring consistency across your documents.
Instead of starting from scratch each time, you can build structured templates made up of sections (such as Introduction, Scope of Work, Pricing, etc.) and reuse them whenever you create a new proposal.
How Proposal Templates Work
Unlike invoices, quotes or estimates, proposals in JiffyTrade™ are built using content sections, not traditional line items.
Each template is made up of multiple sections, where each section includes:
- A title (e.g. Planning & Discovery)
- A description (your detailed content for that section)
- Optional price
- Optional start and end timescale (measured in days / weeks / months to create a timeline)
These sections are stored and reused as part of the template, and automatically populate when creating a new proposal.
Creating a Template
To create a new proposal template:
- Go to Settings → Proposal Templates
- Click Create Template
- Enter a Template Name (for internal use)
- Add your sections:
- Section Title
- Section Description
- Fill out the section details such as Price and Timeframe
- Reorder sections as needed
- Save the template
Once saved, the template will be available when creating new proposals.
Using Templates
When creating a proposal, you’ll be able to select from your saved templates.
Selecting a template will:
- Automatically populate all sections
- Preserve structure and formatting
- Allow you to edit or customise before sending
Managing Templates
You can:
- Edit existing templates
- Delete templates you no longer need
- Create multiple templates for different use cases (e.g. web design, electrical work, maintenance contracts)
Templates are designed to be flexible, so you can maintain different formats depending on the type of work you do.
Best Practices
- Keep sections clear and structured (avoid overly long blocks)
- Use consistent naming across templates
- Create separate templates for different services
- Treat templates as a starting point — customise per client where needed
