Recurring Expenses
Recurring expenses automatically generate new entries at scheduled intervals.
When to use recurring expenses
Recurring expenses are useful for costs that repeat regularly.
Examples include:
- software subscriptions
- vehicle lease payments
- hosting services
- office rent
Creating a recurring expense
- Navigate to
Expenses → Recurring Expenses - Click
Add Recurring Template - Configure the template.
Recurring settings
Start date
The date the recurring expense schedule begins.
End date (optional)
The schedule will stop generating expenses after this date.
Frequency
Select how often the expense repeats.
Example:
- Monthly
- Weekly
- Yearly
Interval
Controls how often the frequency repeats.
Example:
- Every 1 month
- Every 3 months
Real-use case scenario:
For “every other day” set Frequency to ‘daily’ and Interval to ‘2’
For “once per fortnight” set Frequency to ‘weekly’ and Interval to ‘2’
Expense details
Recurring templates include the same fields as standard expenses:
- category
- vendor
- description
- tax values
- notes
Activating recurring expenses
Recurring templates can be enabled or disabled using the Active toggle.
